EDSA Scholar Project Scholarship Information
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the EDSA Scholar project scholarship, a student must be a graduating high schoool senior or undergraduate enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university during the 2002-2003 academic year in the Philippines. Students must have a serious interest in pursuing a college education and creating a better Philippines for tomorrow.
Selection criteria:
Selection is based on the following criteria
* Committment to higher education
* Sensitivity to Filipino issues as demonstrated by community involvement
* Scholastic abiltity
* Financial need
To apply:
* Resume or CV
Should be submitted on one single sided 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper
* Official school transcript
Students are responsible for acquiring official school transcripts ahead of time to be submitted with packet.
* Two letters of recommendation
Scholarship applicants who have demonstrated background in volunteer work are encouraged to highlight that experience, perhaps by seeking a letter from someone who is familiar with their volunteer work.
Scholarship applicants are to seek a letter from someone who is familiar with their work ethic.
* Short essay
The essay should not exceed 750 words, must be typed and double-spaced.
Describe any involvement or interest you have in the Filipino community. If you were awarded the EDSA Scholar project scholarship, propose how you would contribute to the overall Filipino community there in helping other Filipinos in need.
