Katipunan-USA places a lowly 20th place
at AAJA Trivia Bowl

Los Angeles, Calif., October 11, 200--Katipunan-USA joined the Asian American Journalist Association Los Angeles chapter with their annual Trivia Bowl fundraiser. This year, it was in Little Tokyo's Japanese American National Museum. KABC anchor David Ono returned as evening emcee with more than 20 teams competing for the Rice Cup.

Though Katipunan-USA had the best intentions of winning this year's Rice Cup, we came in at a lowly 20th place out of 22 teams. Our team was stumped with questions like "In the Blockbuster commercial, what are the names of the guinea pig and rabbit?" and "On the Sierra Mist commercial, what was the exact year when the caveman woke up?". Katipunan-USA team members vowed to beat the lawyers next year.

Our team included Tri Nguyen, Donna Delfin, Ernie Delfin, Dexter Delfin, Lenard Tercenio, Jaryd Tercenio, and two student journalists. We competed with tems like KTTV-Fox, KNBC, KABC7, KCBS/KCAL, Los Angeles Times, The Orange County Register, Korea Times, Cathay Pacific, and many others.
