During 2002 an estimated 203,500 new cases of breast cancer are expected to
occur among women in the United States. Cindy Balani, a 31-year-old
Production Accountant born and raised in Los Angeles, was diagnosed with
breast cancer on August 5th with no previous signs or family history and is
currently undergoing treatment. Cindy and Bud (Guro Hospecio "Bud" Balani,
Jr., from Kapisanang Mandirigma and Lameco SOG) have been together since
1988 and have an 11-year-old son named Jonathan. Join the Kali Klub sa SIPA
on Saturday, October 26th, 2002 as we celebrate the LIFE & FIGHT for Cindy
Balani. BTW... October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Katipunan-USA note: Co-Founder Donna Delfin has been touched by this disease too many times from godmothers to friend's mothers. Just recently, her own mother had a breast cancer scare when a mammogram found something. Luckily, the findings from the biopsy showed it was benign.
