EDSA Scholar Project

Fountain Valley, CA (March 05, 2003) - Last fall, Katipunan-USA made a difference in the lives of college students in the Philippines with its new EDSA (Entrepreneurial Development For Social Action) Scholar project. On November 3-9, 2002, donated items from various organizations, companies, and people were placed on Ebay for auction. Money raised from the winning auctions will help raise money for Filipino students in need of scholarships. Compared to the high education costs in the United States, it only costs $100 US for one semester in the Philippines.

Among the items that were auctioned were four box tickets to the “UniverSoul Circus” in Los Angeles, two tickets for Jack Leary’s “First Night” at the Pacific American Repertory, signed books from authors Vickie Nam and Celia Tomlinson, CDs from Filipino-American artists, t-shirts/magazines from Jade Magazine and Bamboo Girl Magazine, men’s barong tagalog from MyBarong.com, and t-shirts from Pinoymall.com.

Thank you to everyone who bid on our auction items and letting your friends about our cause. View the supporters and donors who supported this project.

Now is your chance to apply for the EDSA Scholarship, we are currently accepting scholarship applications for college students in the Philippines. How to apply? View EDSA Scholar project Scholarship Info.
