Revolution: Hip Hop Expo

Buena Park, CA 06/23/01 - Through the generous support of DJ Icy Ice, Progressive Funders Group, Ultra Concepts, Inc., Trans-National Escrow, New Century Title, Stacks - The Vinyl Authority, BahayKo.com, Law Offices of Noberto Reyes III, Commodore Ramon A. Alcaraz, David Paraiso, Efren B. Marfil, Rene Fruto, Josephine Cranston, Foundation FunKollective, Jose Buktaw, Hans Dumayag, Tammy Borrero, Kat Carrido, AsianGear.com, Merinda de Guzman, Angel Dayan, and many more, Revolution Hip Hop Expo was a success.

Guests got to check out the Justice For Filipino Veterans booth. Ralph Santos and other petitioners came to push for equal rights for Filipino-American World War II Veterans. The radio station, 100.3 The Beat, also supported our cause and dropped off stickers and key chains. T-shirts from Inner Circle Clothing, Origins, and The Mystics were also available for purchase.

After much delay, DJ Redline otherwise known as Alfred Pampalona started our show. Tri Nguyen and Donna Delfin started with a brief introduction about Katipunan-USA and its projects to help the Philippines. Team Millenia from Cal State Fullerton energized the show with their dance moves that were on point. Yvonne and Eddie from Legend Entertainment blessed the crowd with their amazing vocals by singing the National Anthem. Aposeeds from Foundation FunKollective busted out their emcee skills on the crowd with impressive b-boy skills as well. Immune from Legend Entertainment did two songs showing his skills from Cerritos. Arnold and his group from Lameco Sulite Orehanal Group displayed the martial arts systems that mesmerized the crowd. Irene*ShortyRocwell*Duller and Lily*DirtyDot*Prijoles from 8th Wonder came all the way from the Bay Area to drop some knowledge on us. DJ Virman, DJ Rawn, and J-Magic from Power 106 came all the way from Burbank and showed their turntablism skills and gave free Power 106 t-shirts before heading back to work. DJ Gabe Real, Poseyedon and Off the Path showcased their emcee skills representing the 909 chapter of Foundation FunKollective. The Mystics dropped some lyrics from their album debutting in September. United Kings came from the Bay Area and represented male and female Hip Hop to its fullest potential. Fakshuns hyped the crowd to their feet with their intense lyrics. No Face Renegades thanked Katipunan-USA for the opportunity to perform and dropped some hits for the crowd.

Overall, everyone thought it was a great show and a great success for the Filipino children in the Philippines.
