How You Can Help

Food for thought...

I cannot do everything, but still I can do something
- Helen Keller

Pinay teacher touched by a Good Samaritan in Los Angeles (page 3)

That was 35 years ago. This month, she is patiently waiting for that miracle and with God's help, it can happen before Christmas. When good people of Hagonoy, Bulacan, like the officers and members of the Rotary Club of Hagonoy, as well as the local town officials are supportive of her, good news can come soon.

" I'm just waiting for a kind-hearted person to help me, seeking the help of our Dear Lord to find one for me," she told her friends. Tito delos Reyes, a Hagonoy civic leader and businessman, said: "If we could save Nene's heart, we helped not just her. We helped the whole community."

Through the power of the high tech and internet, pleas for assistance reached fellow Pinoys in California and one led to another. Through the networks of the newly formed KATIPUNAN USA, the Rural Organization for Advancement and Development (ROAD), the Cerritos Rotary Club, the Double Eight, the Samahang Hagonoy-USA, the Hagonoy.Com organizations, hundreds of people learned about this poor teacher's plight.

With God's hand and using a Good Samaritan doctors in Long Beach as His instrument, Dr. Konstantine Vlachonossios, will perform the angiogram procedures and Dr. Ann Connor, a cardiac and thoracic surgeon, the follow-up surgery, free of charge. The hospital venue is now being worked out.
